Ok, I had what was supposed to be a NOS 1946, stuck it on today and the SOB won't run for shit so instead of going through the carb I am just going to go ahead and stick a 2 barrel on it. I am going with the Stovebolt adapter, but my question is which carb do I want? Stovebolts site is giving me problems even getting around so I am going to call them and tell them what I want end of the week, so what I want is:

- 1bl to 2bl adapter
- Holley/Webber 32/36

but which 32/36? Is it the 32/36 dfV that I want?

if you can afford it, get the clifford adaptor...much easier to link up...

Well for me I can't justify the extra expense (what 4 times the cost?) when the only mode that is going to be involved in mine is to relocate the throttle cable (mine is already cable actuated) so....

If anybody could post which carb it is I need or heck I remember a list listing the differances on here but can't find it, it would be much appreciated.

Stove bolt sells the Holley 5200 (weber clone) It's a very good carb, with progressive 2v and best of all he sells tham for agreat price. Just rembember to open it up when you get it and check which jets are in the carb and make sure they are not both the same size.

Ok, sweet man. One more question can I really expect any gains from the 5200? I don't care so much about power as I was going to go all out, but now I realize that is not what I bought this thing for I bought it to drive everyday and so I am more worried about economy, but gaining some power would be great as long as I don't loose milage. I am getting about 18mpg right now combined driving (city and highway) so with the 5200 should I expect economy to go down a whole lot? I remember some posts about the economy actually going up on some but is that common?

Economy will depend on you, it could be better or worse. Better in that the 1 bbl is smaller and will give more mpg, worse if you are like me and love the sound and pull of the 2cd bbl cutting in :D

Check out my web page for some ideas. I did this about two years ago and knock on wood, no problems. Best thing I did to the stang since headers and 2" exhaust. I had to play with the jets to get rid of the hesitation when the second barrel opens, but the guy at Stovebolt was great at recommendations and he carries the jets also. Make sure to get some extra jets a few above and below his recommendations so you can swap them out and like you want.
