HELLO FRIENDS, COULD ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE TIMING SHOULD BE FOR MY 200 ? I HAVE A TIMING LIGHT. I JUST GOT THROUGH REPLACING MY DAMPER. ANY TIPS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANKS,
JOHN
IIRC the '67 200 calls for 8 degrees of initial for a standard trans and 12 for an auto trans.
For a bit more power and economy you might like to try 12 if standard or 15 if auto.
Be sure to disconnect and plug the vacuum advance line when setting the initial timing. Be sure to reattach the vacuum line when finished setting the initial advance.
easiest way to find it is to look at the distributor and pull it from there
from what i remember, mine's on the side of my carb, might be different for yours
THANKS FELLAS, I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT BUT THE STRANGEST THING IS THE SCALE GOES TO 12 BUT BY SOUND I SET IT TO APROX. 15 OFF SCALE. ANYTHING BELOW 12 IT JUST SPUTTERS.
