I am needing a diagram of the vacuum lines for a 200ci with air and a add smog pump. I can not get it to pass emissions the hydrocarbons and carbon minoxide are very high. I have pics of this engine on www.maveric.to.com it is under the tech listing and on the second page under the same name Ed's 75mav. Just left carquest and was talking to a gent there about our car. and he said that it sounds like that we have CA emissions on it. If any one can help with the diagram of how the 4 different vacuum ports are suppose to be hooked up I would appreciate it.

I do have a pic of the engine on www.maverick.to it is on the second page under technical help, and under Ed's 75mav.

I have a set of '73 shop manuals. If no one can furnish the diagram for the '75 let me know and I'll copy the diagram for the 73's if it is in there. I do not know how similar the engine setups were for those years.

yea I have a set of shop manuals myself but it is not helping since none of them show a smog pump, unless I am overlooking it.

Don't you have a 20 year rule in Arizona? Check the VIN. It might be over the limit and you don't have to smog it.

No we have a 25 or 26 yrs rule for smog test, which is a bummer :( . What I can find on the net about the 200ci is that the oil cap is located on the front part of the head, and mine is on the back of the head. I bought this car from a so-called freind that said that it had only been sitting for 2 yrs and when I did some checking the last time it was even plated was back in 98, now I know why. :fume: but the only good thing aboout the car is that there is only a little bit of surface rust, the body is straight, and biggest part of the interior is good. I guess life goes on, and we learn by our mistakes.

I'm thinking that '75 means built or first sold in '74. The VIN has a year and a month code so it is either 30 or 29 years old.

No, we have a 1966 or older rule, which sucks royaly. Oh well, I don't have much trouble gettin' 'em to pass, which we have to do every year, but its not like they care anyway, as long as the sniffer says its good.

I just got on the AZ DOT site and that is what I found out is 66 or later no smog....poundering....I think the state of AZ needs to change this to anything later than 76...hummmm. But welcome to the state of Arizona...

in 1975, there was no specific CA smog equipment on the 200´s

all 200s were factory equipped with:

-thermostatic snorkle air cleaner
-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
-air injection reactor (A.I.R.)
-electric assist choke (EAC) on carb

ported vacuum switches: stick tranny cars were equipped with two port PVS 5FO01, auto tranny cars were equipped with three port PVS 5FO02.

give me a minute or two for the vacuum diagrams - as far as I remember there were at least two different layouts for manual and auto.
Jeez, back then they started with this bad habit of cluttering up engines with endless yards of vacuum lines and -hoses ...

here ya go...

No wonder I used to feel intimidated looking at those carbs engines.

The way it's presented there is great. Hand-drawn gives it a less intimidating aspect!

Simon, I wonder if you rewrote basic service manuals in that way, there might just be a whole new market...

well thanks, I feel flattered... just trying to help.

for rewriting and selling service manuals I´d need the copyrights first, wouldn´t I?

btw, does anyone (ed´s75mav?) need the diagrams for auto tranny w/ and w/o AC as well?

In the words of Gellignite Jack Murray, an old timer of around Aussie rallyes in a Citroen ID19
