Has anyone used the Holley two-stage power valve in their Holley. The first stage opens at 12 inches Hg and the 2nd stage opens at 5 inches Hg. The part number is 25BP-475A-12. This is the same one used on the economy 2300 carb.
If you have used this power valve, please give your input. I am going to try to tune my 2300 for economy.
Thanks,
Ken

Ken, just leave the 8.5 power valve in your carb.

You don't need to richen the mixture too early with the 12 valve & you want full rich @ 8.5.

Just stick with the 8.5 & you will be rewarded with better fuel miliage & performance.

The 2 stage valves are for heavy motor homes. William

Hey William,
I have 2 Holley books, one published in '78 and the other in '87. I was reading the '78 book when I posted. Then I openned up the '87 book, what a difference in articles about the power valves. Interestingly enough, you can loose mpg's with a 2 stage power valve.
The carb I am using is a 2300 off a '69 351 a buddy gave me. I believe it is one of the economy type carbs. I haven't rebuilt it yet, just trying to get as much info about it before I do.
I think my six has become an addiction. That is until I get my stroker Ford out of the engine shop. Then, that will be the focus of my time.
Thanks,
Ken
