2V carb swap - runs like crap

OOPS! Forgot the last question asked. I fixed the vacuum advance after swapping to 2 BBL.

8) you might want to add more initial timing. my 66 falcon had a junk one bbl and dist so i replaced them with a 2100, summit adaptor and a duraspark dist from a 78 fairmont, and hooked it to a chrysler ignition box. at first it had the same problem yours does, didnt want to accelerate. i added more initial timing, and now it runs hard(well for an otherwise stock 170 pushing a 3500lb car). its possible that you have a carb that wasnt cleaned properly during the rebuild, and that will affect your idle problem. both screws should have an affect on the quality of the engine idle when turned.

I was having your exact same problems. Mine were funnier, though. I could get the car to idle GREAT, like a sewing machine, but it would fall flat on it's face when I gave it gas. I switched from a Holley 1940 to the Autolite 1100, and then it had a stall, but it would catch itself. I learned that that was indicative of the Autolite 1bbl, so I switched it back to the 1940. This time, after a thorough cleaning, it would accelerate REALLY nice, HAUL, even for a 1 bbl, I really liked that thing on takeoff, but it would stall only when I came to a complete stop. I fixed the accelerator pump, and readjusted the float, and everything was really nice. Then my starter took 2 teeth on my torque converter, so I have to fix that next. =P
