I pulled my ’68 200 out, did the sump gasket properly, new head gasket as the steel shim was damaged and i installed my 2V head last night, motor is painted Hammertone. Ran into a few issues, wrong gaskets, cracked bell housing that needed some expert welding, buts it all back in, flywheel was machined also and clutch inspected. Head has a light skim, 54cc chambers, large inlet valves and had some internal work, under the valves, short turn radius work, couple bolt holes needed helicoils. Haven’t changed anything on the short as i the budget didn’t stretch for doing any more. Even remembered to put the oil pump/pickup gasket on this time around. Manifold is the 2V factory one, its been in the tank, had the 2 barrel adaptor welded on then the guts of the manifold has been removed to the taper in the adaptor, i have a modded 350 Holley thats almost new to go to try out. Its a borrowed speedway carb. I need to work out how to get some pictures up. I am awaiting the manifold to be returned to me, then its bolt on a start time. Will be good to see the comparison when i race it again as my Log PB was 11.74 on the 1/8th mile and 18.86 1/4, that was when she was crook and it was very hot. So never got to improve on it, but she should have done a 18.2 on the 1/4. My wagon weighs around 3040 with me in it.
