I may have to replace the original rad out of my 64.5 mustang 170 and was thinking of replacing with a 3 row.I noticed the 3 row is 1 inch deeper.Should I have any problem installing and clearing the fan?

Thanks

Unless you are in an extremely hot environment or severe running conditions you should be able to use a two row.

The three row is great if you have 100+ degree temps or if you have AC and sit in traffic a lot. Otherwise, a good clean two row with a good fan is enough for a 170 or 200.

8) i have a two row in my falcon, it needs replacing along with the coolant, and it does just fine even climing the mountain here in va, or in tucson heat. if you have a mustang a 3 row fits nicely, but a 3 row wont fit my falcon.

The 3-row that I got from Mustang's Unlimited is exactly the same dimensions as my old stock 2 row. The rows are smaller, but you still have more surface area with the 3 row. It is made to be an exact looking replacement for the old 2 row.

It worked great for me, but mostly because my old 2 row was shot and corroded all to heck. Everytime I flushed it (about once a week) the coolant would be brown.

rbohm,

I had the same problem when trying to install a 3 row radiator from Falcon Enterprises in my car. I tried every way possible to get it in there, but it would not fit with the fan installed. I ended up sending it back and ordering a 3 row from NAPA (made by Modine). Like CobraSix's, it was the same dimension as the 2 row and identical to the original.

8) well since the 2 row works so well in the falcon i am going to leave it that way. the mustang, when it gets on the road, gets a 4 row rad.
