Blown Radiator

ok i have a 67 stang with a 200. The radiator blew a hole near the top where you put the cap on it. I used a hammer to shut it back to the way it was and i was wondering if that expoxy style radiator fix stuff actually works because i want to get it but am very low on cash as is and wonder if this will fix the problem. I just need the car running since im moving and need to move it about 5 mins away. ill try to post a pic of the damaged area.

P.S when i tried to see if the radiator would work like this without the epoxy all the anti-freeze sprayed all over the engine bay. The hole is on the oposite side towards the grill. did it go to the engine bay because of the fan?

If you only need to move it 5 minutes away, you can probably just fill it up, leave the radiator cap very loose, and drive it gently. It won't pressurize, but it also won't cool as well.

Unfortunatly, I've never seen an epoxy repair hold for very long.

alright well what i plan to do is just a temp fix to move it because im gonna buy a new radiator in a month once i get my paycheck. i just need to move it or my ex step dad will take a hammer to my stang if i dont take it with me when i leave so any quick ideas will help me keep my stang in one piece. I need to move it by sat morning

Sounds like the step dad is a real P#ick. If he hammers it. it would be court time might be a way to get body work and paint done at his expence. But you sholdn't leave it their anyway even if you have to tow it with a chain and a buddy.

Ihave had some JB weld on a leaky seam on my radiator and a pressed in fitting on the surge tank of my old vette for almost 10 years. Scuff & clean surface well. It may not work if you are trying to bridge a large hole. But my repair has worked.
