Brief ? on Carb Spacer

When i was scrounging through the local Pull-a-Part....I found this little 2 barrel spacer, it was made of a hard carbon like plastic material about a 1/4 inch thick. I don't really need it for my adaptor but it gives me that extra little bit of clearance on the 2300 without altering the throttle lever, as it is--it hits my log. I would like to use this to seal the base of my modified adaptor, but I don't know if it can take the heat above the headers?? I would download a pic or two but I am not close to my digital. :?:

I think what you're describing is the Black Phonylic spacer used on may V8s, under two barrels. If it is, they are quite heat resistant. I've had one under my two barrel for the past 3 years with no ill effects. It will make a good spacer and help to insulate the carb from heat below.
