I was just getting ready to order my carb, cam and ignition for my 200, and wondered what you guys coulod recommend for a cam? it is for a 200, must be streetsble, for an auto, turbo in the future, holley 2300 500cfm carb, stock bottom end, possibly a aussie head in the future.... Thanks, Tommy

If you're definitely going to turbo it and don't want to change the cam again, I'd suggest go for a "torque" building cam (an RV grind?). This will run powerfully at lower RPM more so than a "hot street" cam. Not huge duration, yet higher lift than stock. You'll notice it right away, too.

Cheers, Adam.

maybe a part number? I havent seen anything that states its a "torque" cam, I do know what your talking about though.... Thanks, Tommy

Go with a cam in the 260 or 270 ranges, with good lift. I have also heard that it is better to have more lobe speration (112-114) but don't know if this is correct or not. Can anyone verify that?

A street going turbo would like a cam with low overlap, to prevent exhaust flow reversion. Also, a good turbo cam should have its atention put on the exhaust side, to help the turbo spool up.

Go with a camshaft in the 114 lobe center range, if you were going to put the turbo on right away you could go with a canshaft in the 116 lobe center range.
Get with mike at www.fordsixparts.com he can get any lobe center you want on a special order. Good luck on your project. William
