Camshaft Sprocket Bolt

I just tore apart my newly rebuilt engine to find "NO" bolt holding the camshaft sprocket on. Can someone tell me what size the bolt washer/combo is? Thanks

Ron

I guess what I'm really after is the length of the bolt and the thickness of the washer. I have several bolt washer combos that will fit but I don't want to tighten it down to have the cam bind up because I put one in that is too long.

I cant help with the length but was wondering how the cam gear is indexed to the cam? Im dealing with a 66 200. The shop manual does not say, All I see is the washer and bolt. Is it a key or a pin? Would it be easy to set it up one tooth off? Would the marks still look lined up if you didnt get a straight edge and look close? Im thinking mine must be off because I cant find anything else wrong with the motor and it stil vibrates bad.

There is a key, I'm not sure if its woodruff or dowel, pretty hard not to line it up right. I guess anything can be done though.

It's a dowel around ¼" diameter, pressed into the face of the cam boss.

Anyhow Mr A, some washer dimensions for you. The upper surface seems slightly "domed" and I measured 15/64 plus a hair, immediately adjacent to the bolt head. Outer diameter is 1 17/64".

Hope this helps!
