Is the aussie 200 motor, non crossflow the same as yank for the camshaft and lifters etc, i sent a email to Schneider cams for a solid but he said he would have to regrind mine, even though he stocks them i think. Bar this a comp cam kit with all the cam, followers, timing chain etc fit the aussie 200 six, my 200 is a 67 7 bolt main, 5 freeze plug motor.

Relax. No difference in hard cam dimensions, so all the ex US stuff will work. The Aussie 200 sixes changed the cam bearings from the stock US spec and block's bellhousing casting, but everything else is the same as the US ones. Big change was in 1968 with the 188 and 221, but they still use the same cam. After that, there were valve guide changes and rocker gear changes, carb, and exhast changes, the 2V head, the Aussie 250, then the cross flow, BUT basically everything dimensionally was the same.

ok mate thanks for your info, you have any experience with the Schneider grinds? They look a far bit different to Clay Smith or Comp, particularly lift. I dont think i will do the turbo as i dont want the car off the road for long periods, i may just do the usual rebuild with cam, carb and headwork, while i wait i will keep my eye out for a 2V head. First is the C4 conversion.

Some use Schneider Cams has been for the Southern California drag strip market, so its focused on something different then the other cam makers "get market share at all costs" methods. A lot of the six cylinder Ford guys have used these cams as opposed to Isky, Comp Cams, Crower, Engle or Clay Smith, APT et al.

Its all down to how you market and who you work in with. I'd say Schneider is primarily a regrind company, not a green fields cam producer, although it does do specailist work. I first found out about them in the late 70's when European imports like Cologne Capris and Dak Daks and some of the increasingly odd ball straight sixes used them.

When V6 Performance came out by Pat Ganahl in June 1, 1982, it was a landmark of Chevy 60-degree V-6, Chevy 90-degree V-6, Buick V-6 and Ford Capri V-6 info, including Supercharging systems, turbocharging systems, carburetor modifications, blueprinting techniques, valvetrains, manifolds, exhausts, ignitions and drivelines.

In this book, Schneider was wall to wall with cam profiles and regrinds for the hot new property ofthe 60's, 70's and 80's. And having a nice old Iron Cross insignia is important to some and anathema to others.
