whats the difference between the carter weber carb and the holley weber carb

According to Langdon's, it's the linkage that makes the HW 5200 most suitable. I personally like the way the Carter has a place to screw down a center mount air cleaner. I found a simple solution to the linkage problem, without bellcranks. See the HW Jetting Sticky.

what about performance, do u have the carter on your six?

Mine's the HW 5200. Ran OK out of the box, but I haven't checked jets or anything. The big issue was linkage and air cleaners.

I bought an EMPI VW breather for $16.95: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=180231021327&_trksid=p3984.cWON.m313.lVI I have to plug up the breather hose hole.

I have Pat Braden's Weber book, and it pictures the Carter as the type of carb made for emission controls.

They're mirror-images of each other, and the Holley/Weber is the one to get for a FordSix. Unless you want the throttle pulling from either the front or the passenger side.

Carter = Weber DGV
Holley = Weber DFV
