looking for a (i think it's called) diaphram from the side of the carb..it has a little hole in it... from a 65 mustang fastback 2+2....the tag that tells the part number off the carb is rotted away so i don't have the part number....no one around here can get me the part i need without it, it's like brain surgery or something.... does anyone know the original 1v carb number that came on these 6 cyl motors or have a part number for the small diaphram??? or give me any suggestions?? even if i want a rebuild kit i still need the number off the carb?????

Sounds to me like you have an 1100 with a dashpot. A rebuild kit should have it. You shouldn't need the number off the carb tag to get the kit. The kit will cover many applications so all the parts you need should be in it.

The correct carb tag numbers for an OEM '65 200 with-
Auto trans- C5OF- F or R
Manual Trans- C5OF-E or N

It is an Autolite 1100 with a 1.20" venturi and is rated at 185 CFM.

The big difference between the two is an antistall dashpot on the opposite side of the fuel bowl from the accelerator pump armature and diaphram. The auto trans carb is frequently used on a standard trans engine with no downside.

The suffix letters will not make a big difference.

Beware of the factory replacement for the stock OEM Autolite 1100. It is really a Holley 1940 and is a poor choice. Make sure any replacement looks identical to your original carb..

If the part you're looking for is the Spark Control Valve, a new one is usually included in a rebuild kit.

Adios, David

i appreciate the info...got the part ordered today and will be in in the morning..can't wait to hear her run again....it's been a while...
