what kinda HP nd torque gain would i expect getting outta putting a 2bbl weber on my 200ci?

also, i know somebody who could make an adapter to fit a 4bbl carb on it, would i notice a larger power gain or is the 2bbl suffecient?

any other tips on boosting the power of my six would be great.

You are asking the most asked question on this forum.

You can use the search function to find out more than you ever wanted to know... or if thats two hard without counting I would bet there are at least a few people asking the same question on this or the next page so you could just scroll down.

About the smallest I have ever seen a 4bbl on was around a 250. More typical you start to see them around 300-350. To run one on something as small as a 200 (assuming you got rid of the log) it would take a fair amount of modification (as do the 2bbls) and if you are even asking my guess it that will be a bit beyond your knowledge and ability at this time, but if you stick around here and do a bunch of reading who knows.....

i came on here for the answer not to be bitched at by somebody who sits on th forums all day.

but thankyou for the info,

lame. If you don't have time respect OUR time by doing a search first, (or just opening your eyes) then most of us won't bother to take the time to help you.

Attitudes don't help either.

Hey, guys ... no need to get all riled up

It's a legitimate question, but one that didn't need to be asked if you had used the search option, Dylan.

There's no harm in going through the basics for a newbie, but there is a wealth of information lying around this site, on everything and anything about these engines, so oftentimes it's easiest to just use the search function to get all the information one's looking for, and a lot more ...

And there's absolutely no need to put up an attitude, it's not the way things are done around here ...

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind via a 10-12 HP increase with the 2bbl.
A 4 barrel is not for you. Bill

What I determined from reading posts for a couple months after joining and looking at the links the guys provided on their sigs, and then checked with the gurus here, is that 350 CFM is about max for an unmodified log head. More than than, you are over-carbed. That will hurt your low rev operation, your vacuum and your fuel atomization/consumption.

I am in the process, weather permitting, of switching from the stock 1V to the Holley/Weber progressive 2V. I'm not looking for improved HP, but improved MPG. HP is already more than adequate to get the troopers' attention in a red convertible. I like to go on long road trips, and improved range and the option to pick my gas stations is greatly welcomed. :)

On a purely intuitive level, driving on the smaller primary of a 2V will give better MPG, and good throttle response. With a mostly stock motor, I want to be able to cruise the highway right around the peak of my torque curve.

Of course, once you let more air in the top, it has to get out somewhere. So after you change out to a less restrictive carb, then you might want to look at exhaust headers to let it breathe.

Chrome header is in the garage, waiting for the weather. It's hard to thread bolts when your fingers are numb. :(

I wasn't talking about you. I hope Dylan66 still has his ears on. Seems like he wanted to change his bronc ridin' style by changing his belt buckle. Of course, this is why I lurked for a while because there were some real heavy hitters posting here and I wanted to catch the vibe before I exposed my lack of sophistication.

Like they say, if you can swim the Platte River, you're not swimming in the Platte River.
