just picked one up from spyke here...so I have a question...does it have the secondary vacuum advance?

i am not that framiliar but my holley is sucking big time. gas mialge dwindling...went about 37 miles and did 1/4 a tank. this car used to get 250 out of a tank with my 1100..before it broke

YF have seondary vacuum?

Not sure what you mean by secondary vacuum. I can only see one vacuum line on this carb, although your's could be differant. I just picked up my second reman. YF today, and hope to have it on in the next few days. My mileage with my new 200 and the old autolite is terrible- about the same as you are getting. If the YF does not improve mileage I will be very dissapointed :?

i am asking if it has a vacuum advance line input from my secondary vaccuum on my dual advance distributor thingy

my holley doesnt...
my autolite did

that way, at higher speeds, timing retarding or advancing affect the carb positivly...

i better shut up...i am
tired and not making sence

Now I know what you are talking about- the distributor that came with my 200 had two vacuum outlets. The new carter does not, and from what I've heard, using the vacuum retard is not preferable. Ask around, though, as I'm no expert.

I got the second YF installed today- it cruises much smoother that the previous one (did not get over about 30mph coming here), but there is an off the line hesitation- just like the autolites I've had. I'm not sure if this is due to timing (don't think so- car did not do it before I put on this carb) or some kind of accelerator pump problem. I don't know how to adjust the pump on the YF- more experimenting to do!

Oops- loose vac. line fitting  I still have a hesitation off - line, though, and all the differant amounts of timing advance I've tried so far do not get rid of it- must be in the carb. Does anyone know how to adjust the accel. pump on a YF? If took me over a week to get this second carb, so I'd rather not have to order another one.

I have a DS 2 dizzy with two vacuum ports. Can I just plug off the port I don't need? Sorry if I'm getting off the original topic but I try to just ask questions in threads that are similiar to my inquery so I don't have to make a whole new thread. Less clutter that way. Also I have come into the possession of a rebuilt 1101 from a '69 250. It has a larger venturi and a higher cfm rating (210 cfm I believe) so I'm gonna put it on my '68 200ci when I do my DS 2 conversion. Does anyone forsee any problems with this set up? Thanks!

'62,

Yeah, you can plug off the port you don't need. I've been having all sorts of problems with my carb and distributor swaps since I went from my 170 & 1100 to a 200 & carter YF. It seems the carter pull's way more vacuum that the autolite did and this had caused me all kinds of problems. I've gone into detail in a couple of other threads - see "major tuning problems- too much vacuum advance?" and "Vacuum advance tuning"- I'll be giving my results of recent tuning efforts in the later thread momentarilly.

Thanks for help. Looking forward to a tuning update. Also, I don't have a carter yf, I've got the autolite 1101. Just in case you misread...

There's been so many threads on the YF lately- I think I'll have to start a new one for anyone to answer my troubles! I tried to richen it up today, but still have misfiring at 1100 rpm as well as off-line hesitation. I have the YF diagram from MustangGeezer, but I need to find someone with rebuild/ adjustment specs as I don't have them. I may just exchange for a 3rd carb, but this one took 2 weeks to get....
