I know where the choke is on a autolite 1101 carb, am how to adjust it bu I am having problems getting the choke to shut off. If it is really hot like 90 outside and I cold start my car first time in the day, the choke will be on for only a min or 2. But if it is cold like today is in fresno ca it will not shot off for like 20 minutes. At stop lights in gear it revs at around 800-900 rpm and out of gear 1500-1700 rpm. Drives me crazy! How am I to adjust my carb? Where does the choke flat rest at when adjusting wide open or closed or halfway; the spring do I set it in relaxed or tensed or whatever. I am just not sure. There are no leaks because before this all happend I set if like 6 months ago to better start up and be alittle leaner, but now it isnt ever. My gas milege I dont think has changed but dont like having it run so high when just driving. I can shut it off only for a few secs when I press the gas rel hard to the floor but it will only stay like that for a few seconds or until I start driving again. Help.
One more thing, ever since it started getting cold again I get drops of watter at my tailpipe that is black as well. This isnt old or anything but want to know if there is something that I can do about it so I dont have such a mess in my driveway especially when the choke is on making the black water jet out through my pipe.
