Where do I start?
Do I need a D8 head? I would like to know if I can port the intake port? to the carb? Put a radius on it for smoother entry or just port-matching with a 2-bbl adapter? I know I should clean up the exhaust side. I'll get that book on L6 builds. What size cam do you guys recommend to pass smog and maybe a bit better mileage on the highway? I am going to put in flat-top pistons. Should I go with Clifford headers or build my own? Thanks for your help in advance.

8) 1: you dont need a D8 head. the one you have will do fine. you can even have larger valves installed if you choose. you might consider using an aussie 250 2v head. www.fordsixparts.com can usually get them, it might take awhile though. check with mike to see how long it might take.

2: regarding the carb, check the tech section for a couple of different 2bbl carb swaps.

3: install a port divider at the very least, autokrafters has them available.

4: the cam i recommend is the csc-264-12-dhs from fordsixparts.com. that cam will give you decent power, wont hurt mileage, and will have good drivability.

5: mike has headers at fsp as well. in fact he has 2 or 3 different brands available, and they are all good.

I will follow your suggestions. I have to smog this motor so I have to be careful about what I do to it.
