There is nothing at all "wrong" with using stock, OEM parts for stock performance. But even then to get best results it is a good plan to check everything with the best tools available to you. A dealership really can't afford to pay a mechanic to dial in cams though.

Edit: The orginal poster was asking about dialing in "Hi-po" cams, not stock OEM.
