Mike , I purchased a h-264-12-b camshaft several months ago & i am just installing the camshaft after several months of back problems.
To make a long story right to the point. The camshaft is a 264 @ .050 with a 112 lobe center. I always degree my camshafts in to make sure the events are as specified on the degree card. this camshaft ground by clay smith for fordsixparts.com degreed in @ 108 lobe center on the intake with a new timing chain-double roller purchased at the same time as the camshaft. The timing card specified 109 degrees on the intake, after the timing chain wears the specs will be right on the money. The opening & closing of the valves @ .050 are within 1 degree. That is awsome. I have degreed many a camshaft in my time & have had to use a offset bushing or an adjustable timing chain set. this camshaft was right on the specifications as supplied.
just want to give credit to a quality product marketed by one of our fellow members. Mike @ www.fordsixparts.com
The rest of the engine build up is slowed because of .035 deck clearance. This will be milled from the block to .015 deck clearance.
I hope to have this animal running with the greatly modified 80 cylinder head with the milled log with a 500 cfm holley for carburetion.
I will keep you informed after i get this engine fired up in a couple of weeks. William

That's good news about the timing. Interesting to hear that other installs have not been so dependable. Is it the timing set?

Adam, The camshaft degreed right on, after i get the correct deck clearance of .010 with a .021 headgasket i should be right on.
My back is in good shape now & i should be able to finish the upgrade.
I look forward to the great increase in power with the camshaft & the cylinder head.
Thanks for your interest.
When spring comes i will run the car at my local track to see what it does???
I'm looking for 88 to 90 mph in the quarter from the horsepower produced. The ET is of question because of the 2.83 rear.
Let me get back to work on this upgrade. William
