dsII wiring question?

Hey all I have installed a dsII with the origional ford motorcraft ignition module and all the wieing harnesses that came with it.Initially I just did a temporary hook up having the ignition module power wire running to the "I" teminal on my relay.I was told later on here that that was inadviseable.Anyway Yesterday I had some time and decided to rewire it the right way.I stopped short as I was looking under my dash and could not find the pink resistor wire mentioned in all the write ups. so again temporarily wired it this time splicing into the positive wire going to my coil.I am looking to figure out do I have a resistor wire and if not where is the best place to wire this power wire from this module. It does however feel stronger with smoother idle( cold front came through also so could be result from cooler air)not sure but suggestions please

Perhaps the Mavs had a different color or location for the wire? The pink under the dash is for sure a 60's mustang thing.

Many of the DS2 cars appear to have had a resistor. I may be tempted to leave it if its running good. Concerns would be overloading the wire / resistor or if the system voltage got too low.

If you can't easily Identifiy if you have the pink wire or not you can either assume that you do and bypass it or test the voltage at the positive terminal of the coil. You should get 12v or so at the + terminal while running. In that cse your good. Keep in mind you will always get 12v with the engine off with or without the pink wire. But why not get the best bang for your buck and and put a new wire in anyways. To bypass simply bring a new wire off the Run position on your ignition straight over to the coil. Remember to pull the brown wire off the "I" terminal to prevent back feeding, Jaymers can tell you all about what happens when you don't.

check out the wiring diagrams in the duraspark how too sticky

Thanks for the info good job by the way on that write up looks good!!Ok just to be certain now I removed the brown wire from the "I" terminal so now nothing should be connected there? I will take your advice on rerunning a new wire from the ignition switch. Thanks for the info!!
