See how the dist body at the top is small, and there is that vacuum advance unit right in the way? The adapter goes on top of the dizzy to allow the larger cap and to clear the vacuum advance.

I hope that clears things up for ya

List looks ok. Don't forget that you'll also need the cap adaptor. Unless you have HEI style wires, you'll need to get these also. The DSII cap is different than the stock cap and will require the wires with the "elbow bends  ". There is also another part that clips onto the coil. They don't reproduce them so I just wired it instead of looking for one in a junkyard. Check out my site for the list of parts that I needed for the conversion.

Thanks for the links and the pics guys.

I have few more questions before I am off to the parts store.

I want the dual vac. advance not the single right?
What is the difference between a high altitude and regular distributer caps or is there (high alt is about half price)?
I have power steering...am I going to have to move it to make the new distributer fit?

Thanks, Dan

Thanks for the pics. That should find its way into a sticky. Thanks again for the work of relocating :) the pics.

If I connect the wiring as per MustangSteve, will the resistor cause any problems with a Blaster coil? If I'm reading his diagrams correctly, I just splice into the brown wire going to the "I" on the relay. Sound right?

Thats how I wired mine up approx 3 years ago. No problems with the blaster 2 coil yet

When I switched to the Duraspark 2, It cost me around $180.00 for all new parts.

Later,

Thanks, Geezer! I got mine wired in and running this morning. That slight miss is finally gone at idle! I'm using Autolite platinum plugs that are in good condition. Would it benefit me any to change to something else? I'll probably get a Blaster 2 coil in the next few weeks.
