I'm sure some will disagree, but switching to an electric fan is not a performance upgrade. You are just replacing one load on the engine with another. Electric fans place extra load on a already barely adequite electrical system. They have their use, but not to add performance. Fans from a Ford Taurus are known to work well. The cheap 1400cfm ones at your local parts store usually don't cut it. My Bronco is notorious for running hot due to it's design, but with my warmed up 200 it runs a constant 185-190 degrees in 100 degree weather. 190 degree thermostat, stock four blade fan and a 3 core aluminum rad.
