Well after a long long time of looking,2 years to be exact, i finally found an engine, 200ci i believe, only thing is it's seized up, what are your ideas to get them broke loose? Ive heard of using deisel but just thought i'd ask if there were any other methods or products to use.

Thanks in advance, Lee

I filled the cc's full of Seafoam and let it sit for a couple days in the hot summer sun. That did it for me.

Edit: Forgot - I also flipped it over (on an engine stand) and repeatedly seafoam'ed the crank & rods.

Some restorers of old military vehicles use brake fluid to soak around stuck parts, pistons, and tap them loose. Havent tried myself, but have used WD40, in the big industrial size can.

:hmmm: Diesel or kerosene, trans fluid, penetrating oil, probably many more ways. I used some Liquid Wrench a time or two and my uncle used diesel many times filled engine up think they called it pickling than let it set come back every so often and try turning a little one way than back the other

I used Marvel Mistery Oil on my stuck 200. Several pumps from an oil can in each cylinder through the spark plug hole. My engine wasn't stuck too bad so it only took a few hours.

Same thing. Best I've found.

There is a homemade mixture of 50% ATF, 50% acetone that supposedly works the best at freeing rusted parts.

Don't buy too much acetone or the cops might think your making meth and pay you a visit. :(

8) as you can see there are several methods for breaking an engine free of rust. i would use a good penetrating oil like kano or pb blaster and just soak the living heck out of the parts.

Just cheapest Dexron ATF you find. Ford ATF probably work, never tried it.

Only time this failed for me was on an ancient Volvo engine couple decades ago. I finally gave up and pulled the head. Cylinder 3 was literally filled with mud! Be interesting story how it got like that but guess that forever remains a mystery. Should have known, bought it from a local politician that said it worked fine, just set long time. Politicians lie more than used car salesmen. I pretty much gave only little above scrap value for whole car back at time so wasnt too upset. Figured there was a major problem someplace when he backed down so quickly on asking price. But got to be quite a struggle to get a cylinder filled with dirt. About have to remove a sparkplug and use a funnel??? Maybe somebody had personal grudge against him?
