I've been working on my old Maverick for quite some time now, and I think that I can finally see a bit of light at the tunnels end. I've still got lots of cosmetic work ahead of me but the engine is mostly put back together, and should be ready to install any day now. The engine I'm using is a rebuilt 250 I6, which will be bolted to a 4 speed toploader. The motor has been bored 30 over with the compression ratio of 9.5 to 1. It's got a performance cam from classic with a 264/274 profile, and lobe center is 110. I've had the head ported/polished and modified for a weber dgv progressive 2v carb, and I've got a single outlet header from mustangs unlimited. All in all its a pretty mild build, but should still be lots of fun. My question is what to do about the exhaust system? I'd like it to have a nice healthy rumble without being obnoxious. Should I scrap the 6 to 1 header in favor of a dual outlet header? Should I keep the 6 to 1 and just run a big 3 inch single pipe, or maybe split it out to duals? What type of muffler will sound best?
Any help will be appreciated, as this is my first ever 6 cylinder build.
Thanks
