fan blade spacing

what is the correct spacing from radiator to fan..1inch,2inch.. etc.installed a 20 inch radiator and the fan looks a little close to the radiator...
 
8) 1/2" clearance, while tight, is acceptable for a fan with no shroud. with a shroud 1" minimum is best.
