flex fans

i know this has been beat to dead...but,is anyone using a flex fan,if so how tall,15,17inch..super flex,smaller flex..are they better than the 5 or 6 blade stock ones.there are some nice chrome ones out there that would look nice,but i still want it to perform properly,also what spacer are you using....i do have a electric fan in front of the rad.too.

Well, since you already have an electric, which by most racing standards is fine. Less drag on the engine, more power to the wheels. I would however look into getting a really GOOD electric instead and have it installed correctly, so it turns on and off like it's supposed to. I mean if your not having over heat problems, you don't want a standard flex fan. A really GOOD electric will out flow a standard especially while sitting still in traffic when it's most needed.

I second that. I wouldn't switch to a flex fan.

Do they work? Yes. At idle, my old flex fan (that I removed) could hold a shop rag against the radiator from the amount of air it moved. But man that thing was loud which is why I removed it. That and I fixed my overheating problem with a new radiator and heater core.

fan? I don't run one. only time I get a little nervous is in the summer when I get stuck in traffic (like construction on teh interstate) I have troubles keeping mine warm most of the time. but then again I am running a large 3 row AL radaitor on a stock 170.
