harmonic balancer for 200

I remeber someone posting that a later 200 balancer would work on a 67 200 and better due to the extra wieght. I got a 79 balancer from the scrap yard last week (double pulley). I tried to install it, but it fouled on the other pulley. Can any one help me?

Yup. You're right, the heavier the better.

BUT - don't you hate big BUTTS? - You have to get the upper (water pump) pulley to match.

I'm thinking that you have to have the "tall" water pump too. Short pumps have one bolt that is only about an inch long. The tall pump has all three bolts about two inches long. A tall pump is about 3/4 inch taller.
