Looks like good progress.

Don't use a cotton-gauze "K&N" style air filter, they let WAAAAY too much dirt past.

Linc, you sure don't like those filters. Have you had a bad experience w/ the brand? Seems like if you put enough oil on it (not where you over saturate the thing), but maybe it would almost work like the old oil bath breathers, that's almost. Not to steal the thread, just curious.

Well sounds good!!! hope you have no problem @ the new job!! Well ya i wanna get a ranchero and turbo it 8) Not shure yet though, i have to part-out my falcon cuz i figured out ti will cost me more for the chassis to get fixed than my car will be worth when it's done, and it's a 4dr  Good luck on the stang... she's lookin good.

Oh well....you've been waiting this long a little more won't hurt. Good work so far, wish I had the facilities and time to work on my car. And I wish my car was here. Well, anyways. Good luck with the dyno.

Speaking from experience. They let way too much dirt past. Holes in gauze are too large no matter how little or how much oil is on it.

so what woudl ou recommend for a filter? I am on a huge budget

I am looking at some of the cartridge style elements used on diesel engines....they are long and skinny and don't take up much space. You can use a cheap $10 K%N knock off for now but look to change it out as soon as you can.

I was browsing through thte air filter section at the parts store, and found some cylinder shape elements that are cheap and would be worth trying.

I wish I coudl give you guys the news you were looking for, but I cant... I did get the oil pan and timing chain cover back on and most of the vacuum lines are hooked up, I need a 10" line hose for the oil drain (I have it just need to cut and put on) ummm and till need to do the cable throttle and pedal... hmmm well I think thats abotu it and I HAVE 2 DAYS OFF IN A ROW!!! after school of coarse... and if it rains Im screwed...

Take your time and enjoy the process. You have alot of new plumbing and added fuel pressure. Make shure you do it rock solid and get you a fire ext to carry just to be on the safe side. It's cheap insurance.

YES!! Excellent advice, I never thought to offer it. ANY time I do any fuel system work to the carb, pump etc., I always have one in the car, and always have one in the car at the track, too.

thats a good idea, but its pouring right now... and my car is outside... kinda sad that we have a garage thats bigger than our house with 2 lifts and theres hardly enough room to walk around in it, but we'll see if its stops.. just need the radiator, throttle cable and the return hose and I can drive it! :D

wooohoooo!!!! I wanna hear that it's running  :nox: :shockin:  btw i'm going to brookesville, florida. it's 30miles from your town :D

I have had enough close calls to make me remember, and I have seen total losses that could've been prevented with 20.00 to 30.00 dollars worth of insurance.

I would hate to see this young man lose his toy

hey why don't u let me have one of those lifts for free

good luck trying to get them out... ones under a car and would be moveable its a scissor kinda lift and goes like 4 feet high then he has a 6 foot hydraulic cylinder thingy lift... and theres hundreds of cabinets under it and a car oon top.. and tons of other stuff under it too... kinda disappointing... oh and the only news is I ordered my boost guage off ebay, and thats it...

ITS DONE!!!! well sorta... still need to install the pedal and cable then I am done! all the clamps are tight, airfilters on, exhaust is open and I am ready to go! but I work every dayy this week so expect little to get done

Maybe I can help with your timing. I have a three-stage MSD adjustable retard box for turbos/nitrous/superchargers that will plug into your 6AL box. It's new, but a slightly older model of the P/N 8970 found on page 105 of their online catalog:

http://www.msdignition.com/pdf_catalog/ ... 02-117.pdf

I paid $79.95 for it, never used it because I never pulled together all the parts like you have. For $25 plus shipping you can have it.
