Hasa68mustangs official turbo post (not in lounge...)

well I got the turbo off ebay for $101 dollars shipped, said it came off a running car and it came with the factory intercooler and BOV. then I bought the bov for another 50 and the carb hat for 60, the piping came from left over exhuast pieces of and an air filter for another 50, the air filter tube came with the setup along with the 90* hose from the carb hat to the BOV. then there was little things like hoses and lines for the oil and water cooling system and the boost gauge, total I dont think I have $300 in the TURBO setup, the rest of the engine work totals about 1600 including headwork, carb, ignition, battery, I mean EVERYTHING, still alot more thanit should have been but its all in fun and is a great learning process, I just got off work (its 10:21 and once again my dda said he was going to get it done when I was at school/work did he? of coarse not instead he waited until I got home, its o.k. though I am a determined kinda guy that has lots of determination so Ill work on it tonight until my parents yell at me, then goto bed get up at 4 or so then get it all done... :D, but this time I wont forget anything...

I think I had this...

turbo $120
carb $75
float/jets $40
BOV $80
hat $free
manifold $20
intercooler $100
misc plumbing $50

I think I am still under $1000 total for my total powertrain (motor and trans) all if it put in the past year

any thing that you had to change to the internals of the engine? I want to do this to my bone stock 200 six on about a year .... What would i be looking for in a price range and what kind of turbos work?

Did you see the FAQ (sticky) at the top of the forum?

running MUCH better with no bog, or leaning issues

What fuel?

Boost gauge says ?

Fuel pressure gauge says ?

linc I don't think you have had the problem of too much fuel on your setup :P running single digits boost and a big carb makes it pretty easy to deliver too much fuel to the motor and it will really kill the turbo spool time (no exhaust heat/energy) I know on mine a single jet change makes a HUGE difference.

Oh, I agree. But its making me climb the walls that he's out driving it and has no idea what boost/fuel pressure he has!

hehehe I only have an oil and water gauge in my car :P

as long as the young was doesn't get greedy he should be fine....

but he also doesn't know what jets he has in it right now...."whatever came in it"

hey, I dont remember the exact size, in a previous post does10s or someone told me and said that it hould be fine and you suggested a step up, as for boost 7 psi, and fuel pressure I am sad to admit I havent checked it, ill get to it tomorrow as I have the day off, I have been taking it easy so far but it feels alot better. Tomorrow is payday which means I can buy a permanent gauge!

What did I say "would be fine"?

I think I said somewhere in this thread that you need to work on your fuel system.
If you get the fuel and timing wrong, the video you're going to make will show internal engine parts, external of the engine!

Will

ok well I made a video, and ALL of the internals are still internal... and the externals are also external... and functioning properly... Ill make a seperate post for it, I REALLY need a new camera... I am uploading and editing it now...
