8) Has anyone ever built their own headers for a six? I may study the pics and such of them and come up with a set that will work with the convertors on my oldest sons car.

For a six? Not yet, but my 2.3 Ranger has a header I made in 1999.
Took me a week but I was real fussy on tube length and was healing up from my navel hernia at the time. My first recomindation is to use a header plate 3/8 thick, it clamps the gasket much better, no leaks yet.
I got my parts from Headers By Ed, good people to work with though I made my own plate cause I thought theirs was overpriced. Main reason I have not made one for my 200 is I want single outlet and have not seen the elegant way to do that, so far. A 2.5 exhaust should handle the power I want to make, and one BIG pipe sounds much meaner than two small ones.

the headers in my maverick i built myself because noone makes a header for the 300 that cleared the little room i actually had.its a long drawn out process but well worth it in the end.equal length is a must.that was the tricky part.ill see if i can get some pics for you without having to rip apart my intake.

Have you guys checked out the Ford Six shop store yet? Azcoupe sells really cool headers specially made for the sixes. I am saving pennies towards this as we speak..ah chat!

8) I've bought many a set of headers over the years.........but........making up your own adds a real sense of pride too. Besides, most headers for sixes seem to be way too expensive to my mind.
