All Small Six Help ID my Frankenstein!

This relates to all small sixes
Hi, I also noticed that there is no road draft tube or PVC system. You can get a later valve cover and add a PVC system to keep your engine innards nice and clean. Good luck

Just wanted to stop back in and say thanks to everyone. The car does indeed have a 1/4" drive and therefore needs a DUI distributor. I got one on order and it'll be here in plenty of time for the Tulsa Capital of RT66 Cruise and the Falcon Nationals. [If you are coming in town for either keep an eye out for us!

I have a point distributor for my 200 with a 5/16 oil shaft. I would think if a 5/16 dizzy will fit in an early 1/4 block to have a 5/16 shaft modified to fit in a 1/4 oil pump. This is the way I would go. Put the shaft in a rotary dial unit on a milling machine and reduce the end to 1/4. Just remove the 1/4 shaft for the dimensions. The only 5/16 that is needed is the end that goes in the dizzy. Or take the 1/4 shaft and weld up the end that goes in the dizzy and machine the 5/16 hex.

You would have to bore out the lower distributor boss in the block.

1/4" distributor shaft is 0.450" o.d., 5/16" distributor shaft is 0.515" o.d., you would need to machine off 0.065" resulting in 0.0475" of material remaining between the 5/16" hex points to the machined o.d. Almost half as much material.

Personally, I wouldn't trust that at all.
Machining down a 5/16" distributor would leave very little material to engage the oil pump shaft hex. Highly likely to crack out.
