high performance 200 Dampener worth it?

Is the high performance dampener a worthy upgrade over a stock dampener? This motor will also have the 1.65 full roller rockers, and the dual roller timing chain. Isky cam/ valve springs and retainers.

Huh...thought he didn't have any. Well, now I know.
Last I heard he was looking for a supplier, guess he found one.

FYI....I'm working on one for a 250.

Definately not cheap, but it's SFI certified and it uses a serpentine belt! :D
Maybe I can get Mike to stock them so he can buy them cheaper!

Possibly. It depends on how high you're going to rev the motor. If above 6000 a lot, I'd say it's a worthwhile investment. If not, well, you shouldn't have to worry about the timing marks shifting at least.

The performance ones are balanced better, and have the outer ring bonded much better. Not really critical until the higher RPM range is reached IMO. A turbo engine shouldn't have to rev that high to make horsepower.

I'd like to see Fluidampr make one, though. I've heard very good things about them. No resonant frequencies, and much better vibration control.

not to step on any toes or anything...but.....

I don't think a OEM style damper is much of a gain over a stock one other than being new. honestly I would rather see an alloy hub that an outer inertia ring bolts to using a modern type of damping. oh and serp belts would be a nice upgrade too.

I agree, a hipo balancer isn't needed unless you spin it over 6000 often, or sustained revs over 4500. For a good rebuilt, call Damper Docs. Good product for the average application, at decent prices.

Several years ago, a few forum members got together for a group purchase and had a company produce a special run for us. I won't mention who, but will say mind is still sitting in the box it came in and was never installed. It looked really pretty, as it was billet aluminum with a satin finish, but my biggest issue was no provisions for removal. It was completely solid across the front face and I was afraid to drill holes in it.
