i have a 78 head from a 200 with larger valves and hardened valve seats, but its got a realy ugly EGR thing sticking off of it, its cast with the manifold so that really sucks cause i wont be using the EGR anyways. Would it be possible to grind it off and have a shop fill it for a decent price if its at al possible? or am i gonna have to live with a useless tumor sticking off of my intake?

You could go to the expense of having it ground down and filled, but you could just make a plate for it out of heavy gauge sheet metal.

Or, if you wanted it to look nice, make one out of stainless steel, and polish it up. EGR is a fact of life on these later heads/intakes.

allright, i could just make a plate, but does it affect anything performance wise, having a void hole in the intake? some of the newer heads just have a spacer that has an EGR connected to that, i got rid of it on the 250 for now by replacing it with the one from the 200, looks much tidier, maybe i can use the EGR off the 200 head and make a mount for something?
