Hello everyone, after reading mustagaroos (if I spelt that wrong sorry) supercharger installation and the price that he paid for it I think I'm gonna have to get me one of those..... What should I look for in one to know it will work? I do know there will be alot of custom parts that will have to be made bt thats not a problem. I was going to order my header for my first performance mod, but found out I was short 30 dollars but I ended up not having to pay for a grill for my dart thats almost a 6 cyl. cough cough... but anyway I see alot of cheapo electric ones that claim to add 15 HP!!!! WOOT.... (kidding). What would you guys recommend? Thanks, Tommy Also I am changing my signiture like all u guys who have pics of your nice cars in them...

ya any tips on how to insert images into your signiture......? lol, Im ashamed of myself.... I waste all my time infront of my comp and cant even figure out how to insert images into my sig.......... thanks, Tommy

I'm jealous too! Still looking for my good deal.

YAY I GOT IT!!!!!!! Dont mind me answering my own questions..... having my own conversation over here........ ok so my car doesnt look THAT bad, right now everything is black primer except the door because I ran out of paint..... oh ya this is the turbo/supercharger forum..... again with the talking to myself er whoever.... its late goodnight all

lol, i too am 15, own an i6 mustang, and currently broke! cant wait til january so i can get my self a real job. my car is paid for but i spent a year doing freelance book keeping, cpu repair, lawn mowing, car washing, and painting. this year i'm learning to weld so i can fab my parts up when i start building!! GL man, hope you get your car painted!

welding my only suggestion is to wear long socks... I have those footie kinda socks and the spark kinda stuff lands in em and burns....fun fun, ya welding is nice to be able to do yourself, my dad is a retired mechanic and is teaching me how to do stuff, I am lucky to have all the tools and lifts for my own personal use (he built a 1000 something SF garage with 13 foot ceilings 2 lifts and stuff before he messed his back up) and have since welded in one floor pan (he did the other) and the quarters were mostly done by me, good luck on the learning and practice makes perfect.... sorta

hasa68mustang I have been welding for 8 yrs now and I'm a welding engineering student now so if you need some pointers or advice let me know. I also have experience in what you are doing, I have had to do a few floor pans and quarters on my 67' mustang and a 65' for my girlfriend. But on a serious note never weld without your helmet because eye damage is permanent and I don't think you want to screw that up at a young age. Even if your just tacking parts on it still takes a toll on your eyes. Your eyes and ears are very easily damaged so take care of them.

hasa68mustang I always use sandels and no socks , I always forget to put shoes on :x .

ya, i burnt through some blue jeans while i was welding. i knelt down to weld overhead and the sparks burnt the hell out of my knees. i'm damn good at welding on a flat surface and welding peices together, but i suck at welding over head and vertically.

Yeah- out of position welding is a PITA. I did really well in classes on flat and horizontal, but not so well on overhead, vertical up and vertical down. Of course, this was all stick. MIG is soooo much easier.

I ruined well kinda a shirt and shorts, and got some small holes in a pair of socks you say MIG is the easiest, thats all I kno how to weld with..... about the header my dad was supposed to put the money in his checking account so I could pay for it thru paypal but he keeps forgetting.....or something......

I don`t know how to use a mig , I`ve never messed with one before. I learned to weld by going to wal*mart , buying a cheap stick welder and screwing up a cuple rods trying to teach myself how to strike an ark  .

Do you gotta strike an ark with a mig or what do you gotta do ?

Just turn on the shielding gas, put the wire where you want the weld to go, and squeeze the trigger. It's almost cheating. 8) You still need to set your wire feed rate, and your amperage. There's a touch to getting the welds to come out all pretty (which I lack due to no practice).

The downside is that the equipment is more costly than stick welding for the home welder. And be wary of the power input requirements- best you can do at home is 220V single phase for your clothes dryer.
