Well, I took my oil pan off of the turbo motor last night so I can weld up the oil return. What did I see? Four main bearings!!!!!! Oh yea, thats right it is not even a 200. I can't get to upset because the motor was free and in great running shape but the guy told me he rebuilt it and was talking about the seven main bearings in it. Oh well. So what is it? A 170? Whatever it is it's still going to get a fat turbo. No going back now!

what year of motor is it, if i remember correctly some of the very early 200s only had 4 main bearings

Dan, why not just use the short block of your other engine, heck if it can withstand nitrous, a little boost won't probably be much different, how many #'s are planning to use????

It is a '64. It came out of a '65 Mustang but that really does not mean much I guess.

hey import killer, just looked at your site, and what type of car is the blue one with the slicks on it? just curious.

That is my '69 Chevelle. Nitrous 355, PG, 12 bolt with 4.10s. It has done a LOT of street racing! I need to get some better pics on that web page of my junk. My friend took some of the turbo stuff the other day. I will se if I can get them up here soon.

I really thought about that some today but think I am still going to use the free motor for a few reasons. 1, my good 200 has flat top pistons 2, my good head has ben milled .060 and is already on the free motor now 3, my good motor has a 280 cam that would have to go 4, I just want to learn how to tune and setup the turbo on a free motor rather than my good 200. I still have a lot to learn! I am planning on using my good 200 later for the turbo if it works good or if I don't like the turbo I will just set it up for more nitrous, or nitrous and turbo! What ever I do with it it will have good forged pistons in it setup for the power adder, all ARP head and main studs and other strong aftermarket parts to take the abuse. But hopfully if my little plan works out(prolly won't) I will be able to drive me car around with the free turbo motor and work on the good 200 at the same time. 8) That's the plan anyways!

BTY I don't really know how much boost I will run. 9-10psi or however much it will take!
