Lead Substitutes

What do you guys use for lead substutute? I currently use an STP product. Anyone use a substitute for a while and then pull the head?

Anyone know of a site that talks about them?

Hmmm.... I think in the long run it would end up being cheaper to pull the head and install hardened seats. Then you wouldn't need to worry about additives. That's what I did in the late 80's with my 66 Mustang coupe. No major rebuilding and modding like now, just changes to allow the car to run on modern fuel.

I used to use Gunk lead substitute. I dont think they make it anymore or I just had not seen any sold in long while. I am using one of those large bottles with the pre-measure cup built in - which treats about 10 gal per shot. I dont recall the brand, but got it at walmart, and never really had a problem with it. I would go out and look at the bottle, but I'm kinda on the other side of the earth from where my car is parked  Really any lead substitute I have used (including STP) has not given me much problem that I have noticed.
If you are going to replace the head anyway, you may not even really need to use additives. From what I have been told, the wearing of the valve seats is a long and slow process that occurs over a span of time before they start to recess.
