I am playing with a new idea for a 250 hotrod. I have a McCulloch Super-Charger VS-57, and the thought is to add it to a 250 with 3x1bbls. They would be 2 1101's and a RBS. Now at full throttle the carbs will achieve 635cfm. The head will have to be worked on a little, valves, springs, maybe a little porting and a smigin of polishing. I believe the short block will handle the pressure, so I have no concerns with that. No I haven't figured out the plumbing but when I do, I'll let you know.
Is this a feasible combo? This will have to be a city driver so no wild cams. I am still looking to build an M3 killer. Just think an M3 killer in Maverick clothing. Now wouldn't that p@ss#ff the $70k car club.
For this car, I have no interest in replacing the 6 with a V8. Yep, I have a 351 but I am not interested in putting it in the MAV.
This is just a thought, please through in your ideas.

I can understand your motivational direction - but think you need to review the engine control and fuel delivery. Aftermarket EFI will pretty much be a necessity. A roller cam conversion would be nice too.

While a 2V head will make some things easy for your application, I don't feel it's imperative.

Is this what you are thinking? This was the cover of Hot Rod back in 1960. It is a 144.

Isn't it nice to have old farts around that actually saved this stuff?

I know not many people like Rhoads lifters. If you really want a big cam that can't be fullfilled on your street rod you should think about them.

I'm running a 280 cam with roads lifters and it acts even milder than my last 270 cam at idle.

The lifters are a bit noisy, but I think you can adjust that out of them. I'm still in the fine tuning stages of my rebuild.

I love the idea of forced intake and multiple carburetors. My latest dream has been Tri-turbo, with 3 two bbl carbs on that new Aluminium head. Heck of a plumbing nightmare, but think of a turbo with no turbo-lag.

Yes Dennis, that's what I'm thinking. I have seen the Supercharged 1bbl version, just never the three 1 bbls. Is that 144 the Granitelli (sp) 200hps six?
Can you send details?
Thanks,
Ken
