I'll give the filter a go after I get it running right again. Guess I'll take off the carb and replace the float and see if there is any debris in the carb. Wish me luck. The worst case it still doesn't run and I can have it towed to Bel-Kirk. Thanks all. I'll keep you posted.

Any recommendations on where I could get the float?

Where are you located? I'd be happy to come by and take a look.

90% of all carb problems are caused by crud in fuel system. All it takes is one stray piece of rust to cause a needle to stick open or clog a passage.

The car is in Redmond off of 520 at my work.

Still sitting in the parking lot. Hopefully I'll get my old carb on it and home tomorrow.

I live in seattle, and use 'Mustang Ranch' in eatonville. they just did a simple repair of the mirrors but it was quick and well done.

My thanks to Corellian Corvette for coming by and giving her a look. I contacted Schucks where I bought the carb and they are going to give me a NEW carb, yippee. Just have to put it on this weekend and hopefully Elle will be back on the road and FOR SALE. Thanks again for all your help, peeps.

Make sure you put a fuel filter on the inlet of the carb so the problem doesn't happen again if it was rust in the fuel line.

She back running again. The new carb from Schucks was an improved version, not the Autolite 1100. Purrssss...like a kitten. Going to put an inline filter before the gas pump as suggested earlier to help alleviate this problem in the future. She's forsale now.

Good end to the story...Force. I run two filters...the first is the clear filter cartrdge I got from the ZONE for 8bucks...and I installed it just in front of the fuel pump so I could monitor trash from the tank...the second is the stock filter at the carb...so I am covered. The clear filter was/is a great idea and having it under the hood near the pump makes for easy inspections.

second filter in. Any ideas what carb they gave me? I'll post a pic as soon as I get one.
