i know where the air/idle screw is but where are the other screws for tuning it. right now my car is idling pretty high and its causing my transmission to make a clunking noise and just jerk backwards when i put it into reverse from park. please help.

Look at the exploded view. The screw numbered 49 is the fuel/air mix screw. Item 7 is the choke pulloff. The screw just above the number 7A is the cold idle screw. The screw that is half hidden to the right of it on the same exccentric thingy connected to the throttle linkage by the round bulb thing is the regular/warm idle screw.
Fiddle with the idle until it settles down to about 750 RPM, then close the fuel/air mixture until it stumbles, then back it up until you get over 18 lbs of vaccuum. If it knocks on hard acceleration, back the fuel/air mix up a little and run it hard, adjusting the mix until it quits knocking. Then re-set your idle to 750 more or less.
You also should get a shop manual and a dwell tach to get the adjustments really on the money.
It won't be long now before there is a hail of comments telling you how to do this even more accurately and what I did wrong, which is why we are all here, Right???!!!!

RIGHT!!.....hehe, thanks for your info guys. right now i have one problem, which is that my hand choke is not connected so i leave the choke open all the time. doesnt really effect performance and such, just that it was idling high. hopefully ill adjust it tonight.

Set the handbrake, block the wheels and adjust the idle with the automatic in Drive.
You don't really need a choke in a warm climate. If it's not a problem, don't worry about it. On the other hand, it's not too hard to get eveything working right.

nother prob.......no handbrake.....lol....its there but it barely holds anything. good thing i have alot of bricks around. ya it is like 95 degrees n the morning, so the choke didnt come to mind as needing to be replaced.
