Hey guys I was told by one of my mechanic buddys that a electric red holley fuel pump which produces 7 psi would be too much for a holley 290 cfm fuel pump. Is he right? :
not sure but i think a stock pump produces 4-5 psi...so if u were to get a regulator u wouldnt have a problem...holding back 2 psi isnt a big deal...but if u need to ever have that extra bit of flow then its nice to have it rather than need to get a new pump...just my opinion.
So in other words I should be ok, but I should look into getting one of the safety pressure switch? Thanks guys I misread the info on the pump. I love this site.
Get the other holley fuel pump with the regulator. I just installed one on my 65. The regulator has 1 line in and 2 out. 1 out can go to a pressure gauge and the other to the carb. I have a Holley 500cfm that calls for 5-7 PSI.
