My CR is around 9.7:1. I'm using a stell shim headgasket at .010 compressed. If I need to drop CR to run boost, I could go with a newer style gasket that compresses to abour .025 and drop CR by a few points to like 9.2-3:1. At that point, if I've got the head off, I could even open up the bowls a bit.

WHat kind of CR should I be starting with if I wanted to run say 10psi of boost from a Supercharger?

Any thing that invloves doing things twice is to be avoiuded at all costs. Wait out for Does10s / FSSP 200 cube header. At present, his exhast sytem is the best turbo exhast in the world for our sixes, but it only fits 250 I6's with the low mount starter.

If money is tight, then my suggestion is to copy Import Killers set-up, and use the T03/60 found in 280zx Turbos and 300 ZX's. It's got an integral waste gate, and only needs a J -tube with a stock 1.75 by 3.375" bolts on a piece of 0.75" steel.

The TRW turbo or Switzer or Jayray or whatever Buick 231 or Pontiac 300 Turbos ran will also do.

Then get it tuned, and note that if you have the full Clifford exhast port divider, then you can use the stock US cast exhast. It won't fit the stock Aussie 250 2V head without leaking. You have to use the port divder.

When you cost it up, getting the FSSP turbo header is the only cost effective option.

Xtaxi,
"Best in the world"? It's not that good. But it does work well!!
I'm working on getting the header to fit anything with a "standard" exhaust flange. i.e. no Argie head yet.
So it'll fit 170/200/250s with either the log or Aussie head and it'll clear the intake.
Right now the current design will fit a high mount starter 200 if you use a "multi-indexed" starter so you can rotate the bendix cover a little CCW. (Or anti-clockwise depending where you're from! :D )
Should have the improved design done in early March.
This drag racing thing in consuming to much time!

Is there a pic somewhere on here of Does10s' header setup? I am thinking of welding one up for myself on a 250 w/2V head.

Sexy as a saxaphone! This is "the best turbo manifold for Ford 144-250 I6's in the world". There are no others you can buy off the shelf!

Well done, Does10s. We believe in your product becasue we can see it is good, and you r wife has the time slips to prove it.

Rock on!

That one is nice, but as I figured, it looks like doing my own will still be the way to go since I am using a GM 3.8 turbo (different flanges) and putting it in a Bronco (different chassis). I will post pics of my style when I get to it.
Thanks.
