I intalled a port divider in my head almost a year ago with moroso A&B high temp epoxy. It never made any noise so I thought it was good the whole time. I pulled my head yesterday (thrown rod) and found that the epoxy was completely gone. So much for that- I will weld it in this time.

Interesting news, but not surprising to the cynics. The way I can see a high-temp epoxy actually working is to form a porous "skeleton" as it burns up, a bit like coal forming coke. That may have enough rigidity to hold the parts.

The only way to go is to weld it in. We use a high nickel rod and tack it in three places, then machine the exaust manifold flat.

I've had great luck by placing head on propane grill on full hot for about 1hr. mig weld devider in. Then reduce grill to low heat for 20 min then shut off grill and let cool down while still on grill. (goes great with ribs).
It also helps to lightly tap well with hammer after welding. Make sure you grind all areas were welding for good clean surface.

Took mine out 4 months ago, have had no complications, no loss of power and "No More Noise".

What was the temp range of your epoxy? If it was store bought "high temp" epoxy, it was probably only good for 500*. That's not enough. I know moroso makes some good stuff, but they have some cheap stuff too. JB weld, forget it. Won't work.

Get REAL high temp epoxy. I used some real High Temp exhaust system repair epoxy, made specifically for vibrating high temp exhaust systems. We used this on our gas turbines (18k BHP beasts) on our ships and it worked great. www.cotronics.com. the stuff is good for 2300* continous temp and 3000* peak. most store bought stuff is only good for 500* PEAK temp.

I put it on my port divider...and to date it is still there and works great. I'll give a better evaluation when I pull the head again in January. I pulled the manifold not too long ago and it is still looking great.

Trojan Mike used it too (I sent him a tube) and he had no problems with it either.

for high temp uses you can also go to your local marina or boat repair shop and get marine tex. stuff works great i have used it for head and exhaust mods before and no complaints.
