I was getting my motor back together and was checking the push rod length and it's about 1/4" too short. It's a 8" long rod. Is there a longer one available?. I'm running hydrolic lifters with adjustable rockers. The block and head have been milled.

Rocky,

We need to know which motor, and if the rockers are adjustable or not to be of much help.

non-adjustable rocker arms 200 pushrods are 8 5/16" and have a ball on each end.

adjustable rocker arms have 8 1/16" push rods with a ball on the lifter end and a cup on the rocker arm end.

The 250 uses a longer pushrod because of this engines's taller deck height. It is 9 5/16".

Most aftermarket make pushrods that are .060" (1/16") longer and shorter.

If you are off 1/4 inch, something else is wrong.

Please give a more complete description of your situation.

Thanks

Just how much milling was done??????? Are you sure you have the correct lifters for your engine? Do you have shims under your rocker shaft stands? If you have the correct pushrods, there is something else grossly out of spec here.

Motor is a 81. I'm using the 81valve train except for the rockers. Block was milled to 7.78 from centerline of crank. Head was milled .028. Rockers are from a 170 and were honed and cleaned up. No shims under stands. From my measurement using the rod they gave me and counting the number of treads showing on the adjusters. The shop is going to order 8.2" push roads.
