Hi, guys. I'm relatively new to the whole Mustang restoring/modifying thing and I have a question. I have a '67 Mustang coupe that originally had a 200 cid but currently has a 250 cid from a '73 Granada. I just bought what I was told is a 200 cid that was just pulled from the seller's '68 Mustang. However, I noticed the casting number on it reads "14 C8DE 6015-B." I was told this is actually a 60's Falcon engine. Can someone please confirm this and, if so, what are the differences, if any, between this engine and an actual Mustang 200 cid for my year? Will it be a problem to drop this right into my car? Again, I'm new to this, so please bear with me. Thanks!

do you want to change back to the 200? or are you keeping the 250?

you can use the 200 with the current 250 head...

Well, the casting number is for a 68 (though I don't know which) as designated by the C8.

Personally, unless you want a concours restoration, I'd keep the 250 in there. Enjoy your extra cubes. I plan to eventually cram a 250 into my 65.

If the 250 swap was done right, all you should need to put a 200 back in is change the motor mounts. Here is a page for a 200 to 250 swap, so just read through it.

Thank you guys for the responses. Honestly, I'd like to go back to the 200 since I've had so many problems with the "fit" with the 250. My father had to fab the accelerator linkage to the carb and let's just say that, although I love my dad, he's no Jesse James (love you, Dad!). Plus, the exhaust manifold to pipe connection never fit right. I'd always get a leak at that point. I was hoping to get the original engine the car came with, which was the 200, so that I could really get everything to fit right. I don't mind missing the extra cubes since, first of all, the head gasket blew on the 250 and, second, I plan to try to modify the 200 a little with maybe some Clifford parts or something. Anyway, I'll check out the places you guys recommended. Hopefully that'll help. Thanks again and wish me luck!

then find a 200 block and use the 250 head. that would be max advatange...

if you donyt want the 250 head...I will take it. what year is that again?

I believe it came out of '73 Granada but I'll be sure once I pull it. I may just take your tip and swap the heads, though. If not, I guess I'd be willing to sell it off. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

truthfully the most desirable heads are the 78 and up...

I think there is some advantage to a 250 (pre 78 ) head on a 200....
