Well I am getting extremely close to starting up my 67' mustang after 3 yrs of slowly stripping down and rebuilding. I have the motor in, but I think I need a new battery because the starter doesn't seem to have enough torque to turn over the motor, I have tried charging the battery, but I think it is time for a new one. I just have to take the car off the jack stands, get a new battery and roll her out into the drive way. OOOHHHHH I can't wait, here are some pics:

Looks great, and good luck with your start!

Just out of curiosity, it looks like you have the clifford adapter: what did you use for the pcv valve hook up? My clifford just came with a threaded hole and I'm not sure what to put there.

Also, is that a fuel filter in your fuel line bolted to the pass. inner fender?

best,

the engine looks great! keep us posted. what kind of headers are you using?

Thats a Hooker Super Competition. It fits very nicely in my mustang with easy access to the starter, and it has clean lines from the under side of the body.

I found a male air hose fitting that had the same threads as the clifford adapter and I hooked up my PCV hose to that. Should work hopefully. As for the part on the fender that is a fuel pressure regulator that came with my Weber 38/38. from what I understand u are supposed to use those with Weber carbs, so I tried to mount it as best I could.

Thanks for all the compliments, I will keep u all posted when I get it started and how it runs.

I think you should put a little more blue paint on it
Just kidding looks great. hope it runs as good as it looks.

I know I went a lil blue crazy, but it is my favorite color. I painted the walls in my bedroom blue, my SVT Focus is Sonic Blue, most of my paintball equipment is blue, my Optrel Welding helmet is blue, most of my clothes are blue, I will be painting the Mustang Midnight blue, etc. Ok so I am a lil obsessed with blue.

Well everything is turning over great now, but unfortunately a new problem has arose. I'm not getting fuel for some reason or another, I'm not even getting it to the fuel pump. The filter I have inline before the pump is still dry, it's a new filter. So any suggestions would be appreciated, I think I am over looking something really simple but I just can't see what it is.

On another note when it was turning over it sounded mean  .

I would suggest taking a look at, or just changing the any and all rubber hoses between the gas tank and the fuel pump. I was having a similar problem one time. All that it took was a small pinhole leak in the rubber line at the fuel tank, and my pump was just sucking air. You may also want to check to see that the fuel tank is venting properly. If it isn't, you may be getting a vacuum in there, and not allowing the fuel to travel down the line. Just a couple of thoughts. Hope they help.

When i put my engine in it would fire right up and run if i kept dribbling gas down the carb. Did this to give the fuel pump time to pick up from the tank. Just wouldn't seem to do it. Went and looked and someone had stolen my gas. Put some in and still wouldn't pick up. Pump was good when i took it out but it wasn't now--Finally just went and spent $30 on an electric and still no gas. Checked it out and it was bad-- got another one ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM. What are the odds mech. pump went bad parked--Somebody siphoned my gas out and a new electric pump was bad in the box. Didn't have to trim my nails for 2 days from scratching my head.

Yeah I have a 1/4 tank of gas. It would take someone a lot of work to get to my gas tank the way I have my car situated in the garage  . I jusst got home from class and studying afterwards, after I have some dinner and my brain recouperates I will go out there and see if I can ge the gas to start moving through the lines.

Just thought I would add pics of the tach I installed the other day :D

Well here is a lil update on my progress. I got my fuel problem worked out, i'm getting fuel to the pump now. But now instead of starting it backfired. So I think I have my dizzy in wrong. Man I wish there were more hours in the day. Ok, well I will keep the updates coming. Hopefully once I get it started I will post a lil soundclip  .
