im running the offy,260 cam, duel header, mallory unilite...what would be a good spark plug gap.i see some of you gap them at .050..whats the reason for such a large gap...

I'm not sure of the spark plug gap but does anyone know the points gap for a 170?

Awesome,Thank You LOTS
Guess I should get that Falcon Performance Handbook so I can leave you guys alone for once huh?

actually, most of that stuff comes from a shop manual, invest in a shop manual for your car if you don't have one already.

back to original question. I don't know about mallory, does that have a coil built it, or are you using the stock coil? If stock coil, you really can't run much more then .040. If you have a hotter coil, then maybe up to .050 with your set up.

I usually go .05 above stock. So .040 Even with a MSD and Duraspark .045 is more than enough. A large plug back is not always beneficial.

i am running .045 with a pertronix

to answer grease monkey...it also depends on what you are running. I am running a flamethrower coil and pertronix so I can handle more spark. I am sure the DSII people might be able to handle a little more..

you really can tell a difference

my entire car is stock from the rims,to the antenna for the radio to the ignition to even the spare tire and jack in the trunk.Oh yeah got the origional owner's manual in the glove box with it wooha!!
