stainless 300 turbo header coming along...slowly

Actually, nominal 1.5" schedule 10 pipe comes out to 1.68' ID...so its actually a little bit larger than 1 5/8"...but 1 5/8" is what i originally aimed for as my old headers i had installed were 1 5/8" ID...nominal pipe sizing...sheesh...

Schedule 10 is a great thickness....gives for something to weld together especially with a turbo hanging off the end of one side. Ill have to see about a support bracket when im done welding it together and test it for strength...its nice to know your header wont crack on you.

ill post more pics when i get cyl. 3 and 4 in and welded up....hopefully these pics arent too big...

new pics!

Forget abuot whatever i said earlier in the thread. Lookin goo man lookin good :o

How much would you sell one if cacn make another one for a 300 efi.

I have seen some other people build a SS header by welding each tube on its own (after tacking it all up) then polishing them all and doing the final welding (all TIG'd)

it looks like you are using the hard stone type grinding wheels. try the flap disc style (not HF brand though) you can get a much smoother surface that is almost polished like from them.

Good work on the manifold. I'm considering something along the lines of what you're doing.
