the car won't start and I thought I had tracked it down to the ignition switch. not thestarter or the relay. with the jumper the car cranks, so there no problems there. I replaced the ignition switch and the car won't start still. previously I had gotten the car to start but couldn't figure out why sometimes I get nothing when I turn the key. So then last night I wiggled some wires around the ignition and suddenly the car starts (hence the ignition switch) then suddenly the car won't start again, I turn the key and nothing. so where should I go from here. any suggestions.

sounds like you have a loose wire, or a loose ground, try going through and making sure everything is secured correctly
when the car started, was it with the new switch? if so, check the wires, maybe one of them is loose, or is old enough to have broken inside the housing, if not, try re-installing the new one and making sure everything is tight
good luck and keep us updated!

one time I spent 60.oo on the recharging sistem on my jeep just to find out that I had a broken wire in side the housing

it only started with the old switch and now I have lost power to the entire interior.

if I did have a bad wire in the housing how would I go about changing the housing (I assume you mean the wiring harness piece that connects to the ignition switch.)

well I was talking about the rubber that protects the wire

forget it I've decided to scrap the entire harness and re-wire the entire car. found a harness on ebay for under $200. besides if I bought one from the company it would run me 280 or so. thanks for all the replies.
