in my 66 stang i built the motor to be a turbo motor forged pistons and rods copper head gasket stainless valves 2100 carb but i got headers for it cheap and the turbo never happend and because of that i put a bigger cam in to it so i gess my :?: is what should i change to super charge it and what supercharger should i use and where can i find one cheap :?: :?: :?: :?:

thank you for the help

As for what you should change in th the engine, going off my import tuning knowledge, you shouldn't have too. The same parts work under the same principles for both, its just that the supercharge will have alot less lag and builds power differently.

The only concern I have is the cam. How big did you go?

It may still drive fine with a big cam, just won't perform as well as a low overlap cam for forced induction.

CSC-274 (110*) is the number from classic inlines 274 deration and 450 lift 224@.050 so to say the least it does not launch like i want it to thats why i thought boost would be helpful

mcculloch made a vs57 for the ford 6 i seen mounting bracket's for the 57 on ebay or you can call jhon erb the master of the 57(1-775-883-6494)

That cam will have high top end power, but without advancing it to bring the power curve down in the rpm range it won't have low end grunt. Do you have the adjustable double-roller timing chain and gears?
And is it not that due to lag, turbos are not necessarily the solution for low-end torque?

alright so what do i need to do to advance the cam so i can stop dragin ass all over town i do have the double-roller timing chain and gears and also is this a boostable cam

if so does master jhon have one have one that i could eather buy or trade for :?:

I can't answer the boost questions, but to advance the cam you will have to pull the rad, fan, and timing cover.
The gear on the crank has 2° keyways slotted into it, and you pull the gear off and rotate it to the setting you desire.

Paxton and other centrifugal blowers also have spool up time. Positive displacement blowers whether they be Roots or Lysong type are the only ones that give the instantaneous boost. They also are less efficient generating more waste heat and making less peak boost

In general super or turbocharged engines like somewhat shorter duration cams with lots of lift. Too much overlap and you just dump boost out the exhaust pipe. As to whether or not your cam is too big for use with a blower on your engine, I don't have a clue but I'm fairly certain that it is not optimum.

You should definitely look into advancing your cam beforeyou do any other mods. Is it straight up now or is it retarded 2°? Assuming it's straight up, a 2° advance should lower the powerband by something like 500 RPM.

i think my crank gear for timing only fits on one way it has a slot for a tooth on the inside of the gear is that i diff style or am i not understanding what you all are talking about

That "slot" is called a "keyway." The "tooth on the inside of the gear" is called a "key" and it is fitted into a matching recess in the crank snout. And while I'm at it, the "gear" is technically a "sprocket" although the misusage of "gear" is very common.

On an adjustable timing set, there are 3 different keyways in the crank sprocket: -4°, 0° and +4°. Non-adjustable sets have only one keyway.

The chain for the 200 from Mike has -6°, -4°, -2°, 0, +2°, +4°, +6°.

then i must have the nonajust version how do i set that one up :?: :?: all i did when i put the motor together was line up the 2 arrows on the sprocket teeth like the ford book for my mustang told me to :bang: :bang:
